F.I.T. (Functional Integrated Training) is the new face of fitness at The Ranch! F.I.T. incorporates the latest equipment and functional training techniques to get you the results you want. TRX and Fartlek training are part of our new F.I.T. classes, due to launch with the completion of our expansion.

Certainly one of the newest and hottest fitness trends, TRX suspension training, is based on a method of suspended body weight exercises. This training system was developed by a Navy SEAL in need of high performance and portability. After experimenting with a few sturdy straps thrown over a fence or tree branch, he was onto something big. Suspension training requires the use of specialized straps and handles which are suspended from an anchor point. Suspension training uses your own body weight leveraged against gravity. You are in charge of how much you want to challenge yourself by adjusting your body position to add or decrease the resistance load.

One of the best benefits of suspension training is the core conditioning that accompanies whatever exercise you are executing. Because the exercises are performed in a suspended state, the core muscles are activated to stabilize the body. The core muscle group is firing much more than it would if you were on a strength training machine, lying on a bench or standing with a stable base of support. The beauty of TRX training is that new exercisers as well as seasoned athletes will be challenged and successful. We are extremely excited to bring you TRX suspension classes in our new Functional Studio once our expansion is complete.

Fartlek training is far from new; in fact it is the grand-daddy of interval training. It’s gaining renewed attention due to the fact that interval training is so good at blasting fat and bolstering cardio-respiratory endurance. This method of training incorporates bouts of high intensity exercise and recovery. In our Fartlek training classes you will find yourself challenged with Kettlebells, BOSUs, speed ropes and more. Get ready to bust through workout plateaus and take your training to the next level. Look for our new F.I.T. classes coming soon!
